I want to leave my firm but the number and length of interviews employers are requesting makes me want to stay put... 🙄

Where are those let’s do it on a handshake 🤝 opportunities at?

likefunny

Just do it. If you don’t, you will forget how the hiring process works… the longer you stay with same employer, more difficult it will be to find another job

likeuplifting

I don’t think the interview process has changed too much besides being remote. It’s the number of hoops people have to jump through to potentially be told “you don’t have enough experience in X” (clearly didn’t read resume or LinkedIn..) or whatever excuse they come up with..

like

Share the same point of view, especially Amazon. Take a whole day off to go through that painful loop only to be ghosted. I guess it's a way to weed out some people. But on the flip side, you get an offer, and get to work in a toxic environment. Win win.

likesmart

Yeah in the same boat - it’s exhausting
I cant keep skipping meetings or delay my work to attend the interviews. Every company has a minimum 3-4 rounds and they never bother to read my resume beforehand.
Job search is draining and that’s y i stay put in one company for min 2-3 years till I find my energy back to do it all over again 😂

like

😂😂😂

I joined my client. Only had 1 interview to go through.

like

Lucky!

Almost like you want to achieve something better but refuse to work for it.

like

Huh? Lol I don’t mind the screen, talking to the hiring manager and team lead. It’s when they want a presentation and for you to talk to 2-3 team members separately, the lunch lady and parking attendant, and lastly, the CEO vs. just one panel with all the necessary people. 2 hours is much more reasonable vs 6 1-hr meetings answering very similar questions and trying to not repeat yourself lol.

likefunny

3 is a normal number, screener, skills/fit, close. What are you experiencing?

like

But AWS is one phone then a day long loop, right? Nbd

My wife just went through 9 interviews. Including an in-person.

like

Exactly. I declined Google after the first few rounds cuz they wanted a crazy number of interviews and I was really not going to have that… especially with the workload and time. #trueStory

likefunny

I had a minimum of 6 interviews for the jobs I was looking at (mostly product marketing). I had 9 for the job I ended up taking, which included a take-home presentation to a panel

Was ridiculous, but glad I went through it and got out!

like

Same boat - 5-6 rounds + take home case study/project

like

I thought 5-7 rounds were fir junior software roles - for senior strategy related positions what will u ask 7 times and how many cases u will make one solve

like

Come-on bruh! Don't be lazy. Just knock those interviews out and be done!!!

Show up as me and then I’ll take the position. That easy 😉

So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

I have interview scheduled and completed from Commonwealth Bank Bangalore location. All technical rounds cleared.
When I called HR i got a surprise answer..
They mentioned the position which I have intervied is different than the salary rem ranges. And my current salary is higher than position what they have got and asked for approval for rem ranges changes..
Is any one faced this? Ideally HR should know expectation and allocation before scheduling intervjew..

I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation.
