Hi,
I have given tcs interview on 25th November friday and interview went well , the same day i got mail to upload documents. I have uploaded the documents on Saturday. And status of documents got changed to verified today. And my status from 25th is same 'Evaluation in Progress'.
HR who called me to upload document is not picking my call today.
Any idea when I'll get call from HR. My notice period is still 2 months more left. Will that have impact?Tata Consultancy
McKinsey & Company Has Mckinsey met BA headcount quota for the year/did they freeze hiring? I interviewed and got to last round last year, and applied again with a referral two months ago but haven’t heard anything from recruiting. Last year I heard back within 1 month of referral drop. I would’ve thought with my 1 more year of experience I should be able to get an interview easily.🥲 McKinsey & Company
Alvarez & Marsal Can anyone at Alvarez & Marsal provide insight to PEPI P&L interview case? Am told I’m doing a “verbal case” where the interviewer flashes a P&L and some questions. Interested in the complexity/difficulty here. Followed by an “analytical excel case” but that seems to be some pivots and clearing a table. Any insights help!

Sounds like you got Deloitted. Deloitte has some of the worst characters on their payroll - all the way from recruiting to Partnership

Sorry for your experience. We got bad apples too.
The interviewer also was haggling about salary while treating me like a commodity. She also mentioned that they can staff me on any role and they don’t want me complaining later and I might have to do any work that comes up even if it’s related to what I know or discussed. I was a bit aghast. I later mentioned about WLB and she quickly put that aside saying that they have to deliver client expectations and that’s the most important thing in Deloitte.
I felt humiliated after the interview and felt as if they are doing me a favour by going’s head. The HR called me congratulating me for clearing the round and gave me a date for the partner round (without bothering to ask me for my availability). I meekly told her that I currently won’t be able to go ahead with this role and would contact her later.
I now feel ashamed that I let this happen to myself (Former Big4 consultant, Ex Buldge Bracket investment bank, worked across continents with the topmost conglomerates). I feel as if I have committed a crime for working in a startup that failed.
Analyst 1: Funny thing cause I thought it’s the opposite at USI
I bet she was Deloitted to meet you though.
Just smile and shake your head. I don’t think your interviewer fully represents Deloitte’s values. They will likely be spat out in a few years anyway and find that they have no life skills or experiences beyond working at Deloitte since undergrad (probably doesn’t even have a Masters). I’ve met people exactly like this, who make it their life’s work to bring people down. Don’t let them.
YES! Director said it well. Typically, such people’s only salient characteristic is their rat cunning gutter smarts. They are well aware of their mediocrity and tend to stick at the largest corporation they can find. Typically, they can’t get rid of and have honed their ability to play politics to survive. Occasionally, they will meet people who are truly more accomplished than they are, Rather than mend their ways, they will instead proceed to tear them down to satiate their own egos. Unfortunately, every corporation has a few of these characters floating around. There’s little one can do other than set boundaries and move on.
Welcome to mediocrity! Aim higher- try applying to the Strategy / FS practices in reverse order of preference: Deloitte, Accenture, Bain, BCG, and McKinsey,

Funny. I had similar experience with EY-P
She also gave me some topics to prepare. She wanted an elaborate presentation on one which is very common in consulting. She later mentioned that she has no idea about these topics but wants to know more about them. When I tried to explain it to her she immediately cut me short and told me she doesn’t have the time right now.
She came across as quite intimidating and told me that she will question me in detail when she gets a chance to meet me later. I’m quite surprised as I’ve taken interviews myself and have seen my partner as well as MD take interviews earlier and no one has behaved like this.

We do have some characters here, especially in Deloitte consulting.
Crazy interviewer. I wouldn’t characterize the whole firm by her though. I’ve met some great people here. However, like with any large business, a few bad apples have their way of sneaking in. Honestly, something I would do is wait until the interview process is over, and then ask to speak with your recruiter where you can share feedback with them. They should take it seriously and talk to the interviewer, since interviewers are typically the first impression candidates get of the firm. If you get the offer, I would politely request that you not have to work with that interviewer. In any case, you’ll only have to if you both get staffed on the same project.
Wouldn’t work here in India. The partners and directors are too powerful and can successfully make your life difficult
Sorry you had to go through this. Maybe the interviewer felt intimidated by your experience and education. Sorry this happened to you
But I’m very much her junior and the position for was a level 2-3 levels below her!
Deloitte got me all the way to a partner interview and the partner made me feel like I was a waste of space. Guidehouse was even worse. The partner let me know he was late for a meeting then muted me because his toddler walked in the room before tell me he had to get to the meeting. Both instances I was turned down.
Sounds like this particular interviewer was rude, abrupt and asked questions with no interest in hearing you. If you can continue exploring other opportunities, just write back and tell the recruiter it doesn’t seem like a good fit. Are you in India? If you don’t think you could run into this person at another role in a different organization, I’d even tell the recruiter that the interview wasn’t a good experience.
Yes I’m in India. I politely told the HR that I won’t be able to continue for this role.
Indian Male here OP, landed a FAANG role after I finally had no Indian male interviewer
Idk if it’s just me but I felt like the Indian male interviews were interrogations, so don’t sweat it
Keep moving and if from IB, just apply to buyside, corporate strat, etc
D interviewer seems to be insecure based on what you said
