Hey fishes,
I have given the interview in Hexaware and later on I got the email to fill the CAF form which is also done. Nos it's been 20 days and no call, no e-mail at all! I can see the status as offet pending.
I am on notice period and I have only 1 month remaining.
Is it like, hexaware will release the offer at the end time or something! Because I'm eagerly waiting for the offer as I don't have much time now!

Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

Plenty of reasons you can use (obviously don’t say you were let go):
- “I wanted to try a new industry” (I.e if you were in FS say you wanted to try commercial; you don’t have to follow through. Once you’re in ask if you can be partially put in FS then after a few months say you like your team and want to stay in FS)
- “I thought I would fit better in a bigger team and have more opportunities for growth (if you’re interviewing at a bigger firm)
- “I did not feel adequately supported/firm was severely understaffed and I was stressed out during busy season” (caution on this one, see if your interviewer is a happy/reasonable person)
Just avoid sounding like your trashing your old firm. And again don’t mention performance- they wouldn’t know unless someone from your old firm knows someone in the firm you’re applying to.
When they ask for reference contacts, use caution and give a name that you trust and know won’t mention the performance layoff. HR won’t tell them anything aside from confirming employment date however if your new firm thinks you’re still employed, I wouldn’t give them HR’s number (because they’ll say you left the firm) and it might raise flags. So find a senior or manager who you trust.
In hindsight, they may run a background check on you (not definite but they could) which might show an end date for Marcum. So it’s up to you if you want to come clean and just say “we issued my last client and I left the firm to give myself a mental break”. That’s a reasonable statement and they wouldn’t ask anything more. Or just keep quiet and if they run the background check and call you about it, then that’s when you mention you left for mental break. Your call.
Dont tell them you were let go
Just spin the answer - i am leaving to seek more opportunities in a supervisory role ….
You will need your first pay stub and most recent pay stub - when your new company does a background check
Why are fired from Marcum? Due to low performing? Or it is actually layoff
Okay well don't say that. Say you were laid off with severance
If you were let go for performance issues maybe you should try industry? Accounting firms are all different but the work is all the same - maybe don't set yourself up to fail? Unless you were just being lazy and could've done a better job than you did... publics not for everyone
