Record the next conversation and play it for HR.
Employment lawyer stat. Do not go to hr first.
Then, after you get feedback from the lawyer, then start filing with the state and the EEOC.
Document everything, go to HR (not because anyone believes they’re on our side but to have further documentation) to ask for their advice in how to best deal with this situation. Make it about how it’s affecting the work itself, especially if it’s in sales and impact the company’s bottom line - NOT about how terrible this man is, not matter how true. Then consult an entertainment attorney so you lnow your rights a d can exercise them accordingly. Also, I find a blank/confused stare, asking a man to explain what he means when he says something awful or makes a terrible joke, asking him to repeat said terrible thing, or a combination of the aforementioned tactics to be a safe yet satisfying way to quietly fight back. They’re usually too stupid and self absorbed to even realize whats going on.
Also - start looking for a new job asap! Best of luck to you, hang in there!
