I work for a small PE firm with 400 M AUM. Fund AUM being 150 M. I work as the fund controller and I got a raise of 7% and a bonus of 14%. What are your thoughts – I’m kinda upset since I did a lot of things for them even beyond my job duties and haven’t taken more than 2 days off in a year. I don’t feel like they value me. It’s a small PE shop. My new salary is 180k with 12 years of experience based in NYC which is below average… what are your thoughts – am I overthinking?

I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB.
