I worked in accounting and office support for 23 1/2 years in a printing company in Chicago. In 2010 the company moved to Delan Wisconsin. I was able to attain another position with a Durable Medical Equipment Company where I was working in accounts payable and payroll. The company went into receivership and was out of work for a year and a half. I was employed with a book recycling warehouse and that company went into receivership March 2024.

Say you have an offer for Senior Test Engineer and SDET (not senior).
Compensation is same. Both the companies are good.

Given the narrowing boundaries between testing and dev, which position is better in the long run? I thought it'd be SDET.

Both interviews went well, and I was told the recruiters will submit my resume to the partners and senior managers for the next interviews. 3 weeks later, I received the rejection letters without the next interview. I wonder why the partners even not bothered to interview me. If it matters, I am a CPA with 3 years non-PA experience and applied for experienced associate positions. I appreciate any insights.
