I'd like to leave my job, and on a personal note it would be great to do it by the end of the year, but I'm not sure that's really feasible with everything we've got going on. Is there a time of the year you suggest quitting vs not? I can technically hold out a little longer.

Now is not good unless you have a job lined up.
Holiday season is mostly closed off for hiring

If you get raises and bonuses in the beginning of the year, I’d hold off, companies typically do not hire for the last quarter unless they go off a different fiscal year

I don't know if there is a time that is better than other times. I guess I would just wait until I felt was ready and at the point where I just couldn't stay another day.

like

Now would be a really bad time to quit and try to look for another job. It's already tough out here right now and then holidays are coming up so recruiters will be out of office.

The longer you can hold on, I would. It's not a good market out here right now. Some people have been looking for jobs for months. You can keep applying until you find something and then quit.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

Community, I’ve been meeting with a lot of people regarding next steps in my career. One of the best pieces of advice I received is to avoid micro-managing executive staff (agency leadership), as it puts downward and unwelcome pressure on people’s managers and ultimately oneself. Based on your experience in the last 2 years are there:
- Agencies you would steer clear from because their leadership micromanages
- Agencies you would recommend because their leadership gives you room to grow

Thx 🙏🏼

Need some advice: I currently do corp dev and FP&A for a smaller company and just got an offer for about double my salary at a F200 company. The catch is I would no longer be doing corp dev, just FP&A. My goal is eventually to crack into ib, do you think I should take the job and the pay bump or stay at my current role and try to lateral in to ib.

Hey y'all, kind of a two part question:
1. I enjoy the people management more than individual contributor stuff. What career paths do you see in our industry for people who are managing support engineering teams?
2. What certifications are valued today? Seems like being a AWS Cloud Practitioner is a good general one, but are there others that stand out?

It’s very discouraging to continuously receive these rejection emails. With 9 years of supply chain experience, I am not sure why I would not be able to at least get an interview for entry level roles that require no experience. Not just this one pictured but others as well. I’ve applied to maybe 60 positions since May, both mid level and “entry” and no interviews. I’ve had my resume professionally re-written twice. Not sure where the disconnect is. Anyone else going through this same thing?
