Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

I’ve been with my company for 8+ yrs, I love my manager and the work I do (engagement, recognition, & wellness programs) but I feel like I’m limiting myself since I have the experience, an HRM degree, and SHRM-CP credentials.

Should I apply for roles outside the company?

Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

I’m getting put up for manager a year early. I have PPMD ,SM, and M support. Pretty much support from all the key individuals on my team and in my service line. Since it is a year early if i don’t get promoted this round I know it’ll come mid year but I do expect a good salary increase still without the promo. If I don’t get the promo nor a salary increase that I’m okay with, how do I let my partner know that I will begin to entertain outside offers? some of which have offered the manager role.

Hello. I’m a senior associate level trial attorney. I’ve worked in both government offices and multiple private practices. Currently work in a mountain west region city doing high asset divorce and criminal defense work. I was a teaching assistant in law school and am looking to start teaching adjunct classes this coming fall. No experience in big law. Always done government or small/boutique law. Happy to help anyone interested in small law, boutique law, or complex litigation.

My ASM is lazy and is incapable of doing the easiest basic tasks with recruitment. She receives all my end of day updates, is cc’d on all emails, makes me fill out 5 repetitive excel/smart sheet, and joins all my meetings but she still wants to call having me 5x daily about updates. Hello! During our annual review my Boss agreed that I would be promoted by our next review. We are doing our mid year reviews now. Should I include this as a goal to keep us both accountable or is having the conversation enough?

Anybody have experience neutralizing or even co-opting powerful skeptics? My team is in the cross hairs of a major player with an axe to grind. I am trying to speak their language and frame my team’s value in terms they value but I still feel extremely vulnerable.
