If my hola is to be VP of internal audit, would CISA+CPA+CIA be helpful? Any other certification that would be helpful?

Master of certifications lol I think that’s more than enough

likefunny

How pissed would you be if your VP of Internal Audit had none of these things? Remember that executive roles are about soft skills just as much as they are about technical or professional certifications.

like

Our SVP of internal audit has none of those. She’s also under 40 and this is a $20b company. Getting shit done is more valuable than alphabet soup after your name

like

CPA. Most IA VPs have multiple, but certainly CPA.

likesmart

That’s okay.. CPA is fine .. I obtained CISA out of curiosity. Both CPA and CISA is cool. To me, if you have CPA, it covers CIA..

like

KPMG 1. My point was I personally wouldn’t purse a CIA since I have a CPA.. I would rather go for a CISA. Everyone with what they like!!!

You might want DN

Haha!

Hey Dallas folks!

I want to get to know the local private companies. I worked at a private company with 2-3k employees before my MBA. They had an amazing culture, but limited progression opportunities. I'm thinking about looking for a smaller company (couple hundred to couple thousand employees) in the Dallas area and looking to find an amazing culture.

Anyone have recommendations on companies with great cultures in the Dallas/north of Dallas areas? (I live in the Plano/Allen/Mckinney area)

Got a 30% salary bump, via an offer for Senior Consultant S&O from Deloitte. Currently underpaid at EY Advisory. I'm MBA and this year is my promotion year at EY for Manager. What to do? Get demoted and move to D? Or counter at EY? Even if EY matches my salary, and promote me to Manager, I will be an EY Manager with a Deloitte SC salary, and probably won't be able to go to D in the future. What do you think? I have built up a good relationship with my Partner and SMs at EY though.

But I have interviewed at several big name pe shops and make a few rounds on interviews but then get the same feedback that they are worried about my lack of operational experience.

I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!
