Probably travel around and try to get into a remote programming position or freelance it. After about a year I’d probably go for grad school/mba to ride it out.
I’ve got over $200k saved (non-retirement) collecting interest in short term investment grade bonds and am adding to it with every check. I’ve been waiting for a downturn for years. Planning on starting or buying a business when fear is high.
throwing plenty of $$$ into the market in separate accounts. this is for a biz opportunity that I plan to start in 2 yrs or less. I have a target number and am getting close.

It’s not conservative for me I could live on $25k for almost a year even longer if I cut back my entertainment etc.
Go to my parent house abroad and wait it out.
I’m saving up aggressively right now. I’d probably lazily job search, and enjoy the down time until I find a new role.

I, like a few others, have enough stuffed into cash equivalents that I would use the money to buy a distressed business or property. Highly unlikely my partner is laid off too;so, while we would need to tighten our belts, it wouldn't be disastrous. Hardest part would probably be managing our rent / moving to a different neighborhood.
