Everyone is so focused on hiring diverse candidates but they don't want to spend time on making the culture an inclusive place.

I feel like it's just about making it a standard practice rather than a pat on the back kind of initiative. It's not integrated into all of our functions and it makes it difficult to fully implement and show people the benefits of it

Love this and totally agree. It needs to be fully visible and integrated to succeed.

Tokenistic efforts can only get one so far. The company has no interest in collecting data, reviewing policies or engaging leaders to think strategically about DEI. I'm left throwing parties and celebrating this and that on special occasions.

Staff don't give two hoots about DEI either.

I'm in a time-wasting role that gives the company great branding without having to do the work.

I am shocked how ignorant people are about DEI at all, particularly people who benefit the most. I wish they were educated so that they actually understood how bad it can feel and learned to be empathetic instead ob being 🍑⛳️

Latinx - help! We used this term in our diversity spotlight discussing Hispanic Heritage Month. One individual said that in English a group of Latinos would just be Latins to be gender neutral. I understand the word is controversial but is “Latins” grammatically correct? I assume we should just say Latin Americans, but trying to understand if Latins is also accurate.

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. In honor of National Voter Registration Day, The New Yorker released the transcript of a previously unpublished interview with James Baldwin, who gave a first-hand account of "Freedom Day 1963," a Black voter-registration drive in Selma, Alabama. Hi, we just launched Diversity and inclusion committee at our work place and one of our many initiatives is to share some reminders /notifications about safety and inclusion in common employee platforms/portals e.g There’s no place or time when discrimination is acceptable. My company has ERGs and one of them is pretty large and includes a lot of demographics. Hi all,

My boss makes jokes about me being from a different country whenever there is a work meeting or a gathering with coworkers, even though he knows where I am from. This usually occurs when I meet new work-related people or for example if I am in a situation that involves ethnic related subjects.

What is this? This is normal?

The first time I ignored that, but now it has become a pattern and is bothering me now. I am south-American working in the UK.
