Hello all,
I'm currently working on azure cloud in Cognizant . I've about 1.4 years of experience now. I've got an offer from Axtria as an L1 Analyst. Could anyone please suggest if the change in field is worth it. Or should I just look for other jobs in cloud only? I will have to decide this at the earliest so please do help me with it.

I’m probably in the minority because most people say “NYU/GU or nothing,” but I went to UF for the money. I have a much better job than my classmates who went to Georgetown. I would pick the Northwestern scholarship all day, especially because if you are receiving such scholarship, you should have no difficulty finding opportunities after the program. It implies you have good grades before hand and that you will perform well in the program.
Noted. Thank you!
As a Georgetown alumnus, I recommend going to Northwestern. Free ride and they have similar recruitment programs where similar employers participate.
Ahh I see. Thank you!
Ahh, I was reading the post as a scholarship to each and thus $0 for either. No brainer if there is a scholarship for one and not the other. Not paying is always better.
I see. Thanks for your input!
Northwestern. (But I’m biased because I went there for my tax LLM). Absolutely fantastic network and program.
Can I dm you please?
I don't think the Northwestern LLM is honestly going to get you into biglaw unless you have something else going for you. About 5 years ago they came to my biglaw firm and offered to let tax associates do their LLM program for free...basically so they could claim that they had LLM grads at biglaw firms. There's a lot of shenanigans like that. If you're a Northwestern JD-LLM that's viewed very positively, but their LLM program itself alone is viewed very, very differently from Georgetown's.
The snobbiness of the profession bothers me, and I don't hire this way. But my views aren't going to change the bad attitudes of so many others. Northwestern will probably get you a good job at an accounting firm if you do well, which is a rewarding career and not a "second choice" for many. It's just a question of who's your market, how much risk you want to take, and whether the extreme cost of the LLM is worth it.
It depends on where you want to end up, but in general Georgetown “travels” better and will give you more options on a more widely diverse national level.
Congrats on the scholarship!!!
Thank you!!!
As an GT grad, go to northwestern. No loan/ out of pocket is always better!
Thank you!!!
Scholarship. Market is bad. Probable landing spot is big 4. Much worse to be at big 4 and have a ton of debt.
Noted. Thanks for all your input guys!
Where is your undergrad and law school and how did you do at them? I have a an LLM from university of Denver. Not a bad program but not Georgetown/NYU. But I’ve never had any push back because I graduated first in my class at Denver, and I’ve got too 10-15 schools for law and undergrad.
Take the Northwestern offer. Why burden yourself with a mountain of debt living in a very HCOL city?
Noted. Thank you!
I think a degree is what you make of it! Go to NW and take the free ride!
Will do! Thanks!
I'd take the free degree. I say that as a current Georgetown Tax LLM student.
