Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

I have received offer from Wipro which is little above than the offer that I am holding but fixed pay is less. Thinking of rejecting Wipro offer. Is it better to reject or accept and then not join. Also if I reject, will there be any issue like they won't consider me in future?Tata Consultancy Wipro Cognizant Infosys

Meta technical solutions consultant interview prep - can someone let me know if they have gone through the technical rounds for Technical Solutions Consultant role? Can you share what to prepare for since it’s not a data science type of role so most likely not hard level MySQL questions. Any specific types of queries that I should learn? Thanks!

Have to say no. I have young kids and want to be home to see them as often as I can. If I travel more than once a month, that's way too much for me. Money just isn't the biggest priority (though I'm certainly not turning it down if I'm able to maintain some amount of WLB)
Family comes first! I totally understand that!
I’ve done the constant travel before for more money. It’s really tough with young kids. You’ll be missing out on majority of their developmental milestones. And those early years are the formative years. I missed a lot. Now if I was younger and without a family, sure. But the thing with work travel that people don't talk about a enough is that it's not the typical fun vacation travel. It's waking up at 4 am multiple days, waiting at an airport for 3 hours, flying another 2 hours, meetings all day, then back to the airport at midnight. There is no time to explore the city you're in. If you're staying in the city, the little free time you do have is spent at your hotel room working or being responsible enough to not be late for work the following day. It can greatly affect your health.
I know what you mean! Having kids can be really tough!
100% if you don't have a family
Roger that!
For double my salary, sure I'd jump at that. I don't have any family commitments, and while I'm not a huge fan of traveling, I could handle it. When I have had to travel for work it was usually pretty boring and uneventful, and I could handle the boredom for double the paycheck.
I’m glad me and you share the same point of view!
I’d take it. You may get to see other parts of the world. Get to experience other aspects of work to add those experiences to your toolbox. If you have a family and your kids are young then think about what you may never get to see. They grow up faster than you can blink. The money is great, but there’s just some things in life that will never replace the love your children will provide you. Sure, my daughter will object to everything I say, but when she gets scared, Mom is not around and she begins to feel better b/c Daddy was there. I’ve learned you can’t replace that and what a miracle she truly is. My Father often told me, “the money will come”. It hasn’t yet, but maybe “money” in this case wasn’t the physical dollar he was referring to.
I would take it too! Thanks for sharing!
yes I would, my child is all grown up. I never married, I would travel all over again!!!!!
Glad you would take it!
