Hi! Excited we have a space finally :)
Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well and staying safe during the holiday season. I wanted to take a moment to highlight a role that I’m hiring for - Sr. Learning & Talent Development Partner. If you’re interested, I’ve added to the Fishbowl jobs board - https://joinfishbowl.com/job_rpc2p5vsvq. Feel free to reach out directly if you’d like to chat. :)

I've heard of people hearing back nearly a month later... so you can't even say if it's bad or good, but I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket. The right place will show up and not leaving you guessing. Did you happen to reach out for a follow up?

Thanks so much!
Not necessarily. Sometimes the hiring process can take a bit longer than expected. While you wait, it's a good idea to stay open to other opportunities that my come your way

That’s a good mindset to have. Thanks for the tip!
I don't think so. Patience is important at that phase. Most companies interview limited amount of candidates every week so considering huge amount of applications to most roles the processes are even longer.

Right I think we often forget they don’t have time everyday to be interviewing people as fast as we think
Not necessarily. Sometimes it takes a while. Recruiters and human resources often have to wait a significant amount of time to hear back from whoever they reporting to.

Also true - it goes through a cycle of approvals and people

To me, it is the first indicator as to the culture of the organization. A team with a strong culture will follow up promptly and communicate clearly with candidates. A team with weak culture will ghost candidates after having interviewed them.
I fully understand not following up with every applicant as there can be hundreds who apply. But if you interview a candidate, the least you can do is follow up with them regularly as to where things stand in the process. I've been ghosted after four rounds of interviews (including the VP of HR and Sr Director of Total Rewards)...you can bet I won't be applying for that team again.

This is a really respectful opinion and I appreciate you sharing. It’s hard to find that middle ground of understanding why it takes long but at the same time if they respect your time and efforts it doesn’t take too much time out of their day to acknowledge you
Not necessarily. Often times, recruiters are waiting for feedback from hiring managers and/or they're still finishing interviews with other candidates. If you sent a follow-up note and still haven't heard anything back, then it's a bit of a red flag that you're being ghosted. If they do get back to you much later with interest, be wary. It could be indicative of their company culture.

The red flags are definitely there sometimes. Thanks for sharing your insight!
if the post says "hiring immediately...or urgently" Recruiters are notorious for not following-up. I really hate to use recruiters for anything.

That’s a shame that it has to be like that sometimes

No not at all - in my opinion - the process is started soo much earlier than necessary
