Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

It’s not about how big the brand is, it’s about the ideas.
If you think your work has strong ideas and is well executed, put it in your book.
DO NOT justify putting or not putting work in your portfolio based on awards. Put the type of things in your book that you want to keep making.
Personally, I love making comedic advertising and projects that involve new technologies. So those are the things I choose to put in my book.
Also, you’re still junior/midlevel. It’s ok to keep making spec campaigns and adding them to your book.
This is great advice. Put what you’d like to make in your book. Awards matter but they’re only as good as yourcontributions. Be honest about your contributions. I’ve seen many creatives write “award-winning checks”that they’re skills couldn’t cash.

Ask a couple of your ad friends who have good taste and ask what they think. That should help you whittle it down. I show my new projects to my friends all the time to help me figure out what to include on my site.
Interesting work over award winning work esp at more junior levels. If it’s interesting work that win an award even better. Most professional award winning work is curated/crafted with awards in mind anyway
