I'm not sure that's an emerging trend, it's always been the case that employees who see no way forward will go elsewhere. It's true that some people just have unrealistic expectations and expect to be promoted like clockwork. But there's no getting around that the most common way to make more money is to go somewhere else. That economic phenomenon even has a name, wage inversion.
Revenge quitting is only the answer IF you have another job lined up that pays significantly more, is a decent promotion, and provides you with more growth and truly values you well. Showing your current employer that “hey you didn’t wanna value me so I found someone who would” is the best revenge lol.
If you quit without having a better opportunity lined up, your employer could argue, “well clearly you’re not qualified enough for a higher position anyway since you don’t have an offer.”
If you have a screw you money and can be okay not working for like 6 months, then yes - rage quitting is the answer l.
