Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.

Pay is better at agencies?! Not true. Brand side you get base pay + bonus + stock. I am making way more money brand side than when I was agency side
Head of department 350 and up plus bonus of 40-50 abd up. High performer not head of department would be 250-300 plus but likely less bonus. At least at a holding company
The pay is generally better at agencies but likely job security is worse. Politics way worse client side
The amount of exec roles in agency land is shrinking. Even before, you needed to be division 1 all stars in a sea of high school players to make it to that level. If you believe yourself to be exec level talent sure stay agency side. But chances are you are not. Take the money and run brand side.
I've worked both agency and brand side. As I say to everyone, one is not better than the other, and both agencies and client side jobs can be either really great or really bad.
I've worked brand side making peanuts but I've also worked brand side where I was making more money than a CD/ECD at an agency.
I've also worked at agencies where I was producing bad creative work and I've worked brand side jobs doing decent creative.
All depends.

Is it fun?
Same. It’s still fun. And I make great money and it allows me to fund my exit of this industry by 46/47 without all the agency inside baseball bullshit. The fear of layoffs happening at any time the past 5 years was enough for me to say fuck this. I ain’t the next Greg Hahn and I’m ok with that. Still love this more than any other white collar job out there. Gratitude and humility are a great combo.
