I’m a 1-person commercial legal team at a growth stage SaaS company. I want to start operationalizing our commercial legal process but not sure where to start. Right now, sales submits all redlines via a Slack channel. Our volume isn’t so crazy so it’s manageable, but it’s messy. Today shit blew up so much on my two gigs all I could hear for hours was the constant barrage of pinging noises from outlook, gmail, slack and teams. Like some kind of hellish tech sounding symphony. I will probably go to sleep tonight with pings, clicks, chimes and whooshes echoing in my head into the void. Seriously y’all how do we not lose our fucking minds?

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

I tutor ESL after school and recently switched over to Zoom. Students are stating that they are unable to annotate. I’ve read that this is common for Chromebook users. Does anyone know of a way to bypass this and/or any video/picture tutorials? Otherwise, it looks like we’ll just have to add an additional open tab with a google share doc. Any of your firms do virtual gifts or corporate appreciation for your teams? We want to do something for our hard working team that is spread out over the nation but not make it an event where we’re stuck doing over zoom. Ideally something like wine delivery just to show appreciation

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. I am having discussions with my teachers on ways that I can better support them and the students when remote.

Got a temp offer for less than a year without promise of turning into full-time. Wanted to know what ppl think about temp jobs (looks bad on resume if I don't turn full-time later within the company?) and what comp should look like (e.g. 1.2× of regular comp?).

Very specific to retail and/or hospitality in-house roles: has anyone found a good solution for predictive scheduling? Our retail division has one set of software for scheduling and one for payroll, and neither of them can handle predictive scheduling compliance issues unless they’re used for both the scheduling and payroll functions. I’m coming up empty on ideas for them to bridge the gap, but I’m also new to my compliance counsel role, so I would be overjoyed if anyone has suggestions.

What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? Publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far. Graduated in 2014. Base comp is $127.5k in the Philly area. I see salaries all over the place in this site and it’s hard to tell whether mine is competitive.
