I'm a big believer in proof reading and having a second person read through your work before sending it over. It takes only a few minutes and can help catch misunderstandings. Is this a common practice in your workplace?

Double-checking is always good practice, although not everyone does it

I agree that it should be required. But, in practice it doesn't always happen. To be honest, I'm sometimes shocked at how error ridden some things are that come across my desk. Not to mention poorly written. If I can't get someone to proofread something for me, what I'll try to do is put it aside for a day or two if possible. And just by looking at it anew I may find things that need to be changed or corrected.

Having a second pair of eyes on something can be really helpful! We regularly ask each other for a second glance on 3D designs we make, but usually only ask for a read through of emails going to clients/wya higher ups.

It really depends on how important the work is. If these are just standard correspondence and you're relatively new to the job or industry - then no, you shouldn't need for someone else to read over your work. Though do use spellcheck or a grammar program to catch mistakes. Definitely re-read your own work and writings. It is not common for other people to check your work for standard work.
For larger projects or more important correspondence - especially to clients, a second set of eyes seems reasonable.
Tip: When re-reading your own work - make sure to actually read it and don't just glance over it. We so often read what we think we wrote and not what we actually wrote.

I’m pretty torn on whether I want to take an offer for an internal role or not…
The job itself sounds pretty interesting. Lots of opportunity for growth (eventually will build out a team).

My only concern is the hiring manager. I talked to someone in my network who has worked with him in the past and she told me that she would 100% work with him again bc she learned a lot, but that he has a very dominant personality and that some ppl can butt heads with him.

I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative. However she carries this enormous weight of responsibility, for needing to do everything, do it right, make sure it's perfect, not trusting colleagues to help. It creates dread and panic and overwhelming workload and a terrible attitude for her and I am speaking with her this week to start to shift her mindset. Any tips in navigating how to let go of this heavy idea of "responsibility"?

If an employee mentions something disparaging or accusatory about their manager during an exit interview, how would you handle? What happens if what the employee said is slanderous and a “he said/she said” situation? I.e. employee claimed the manager made a disparaging remark about an item of clothing being worn by someone in accordance with their beliefs. If you opt to share the feedback with the manager, would the manager have a legal case against the company or former employee?

My AD isn’t good at conceptualization and isn’t helping me come up with ideas. (Maybe bc they went from GD to AD). How do I convince them their job involves more than graphic design and mock ups?

So my VP at my previous company felt bad and refused to speak to me or attend my farewell after my resignation. His reason was that I somehow betrayed his trust as he had promoted me just last year (after keeping the position open for 4 months and letting me take additional work load after the previous SM left!). Does this make any sense? I mean where does this sense of entitlement or ownership over the employees come from? No wonder the company in question is kind of facing a literal exodus!
