Starwood. Everyone knows it's the best card out there. The delta card is pretty bad actually. 2 miles per dollar isn't exciting, especially because it's only on delta purchases. You probably won't be charging every flight to your delta card right? Plus Starwood you can easily change to delta miles.
Both... Use to maximize your points.
Your best option is to get SPG Amex & Amex Premier Rewards Gold. Put SPG stays (4-5x points) on SPG Amex and Delta flights (3x points) on PRG. This way you maximize both programs and you can always transfer over 20k Starpoints to Delta and receive a 5k point bonus each time.
Delta Amex...you can link to your SPG account and get qualifying miles for your hotel stays...better status quicker
Hotel status is not as beneficial... A lot of the time I get upgraded for $15 a night where flight upgrades are like $400
^just keep in mind the only Delta Amex that allows you earn MQM is the Delta Reserve and it has a $450 AF
Actually Delta Platinum Amex does too, you just get a lot less
^not sure that's true. Swear I get status points off my gold card spend which got me platinum. You can see points register on the app and where they come from. Platinim gives you the bonus 10k miles mqm for sure when you hit spending thresholds
Delta loyalist here, that card is useful if we can expense flights on personal card which D doesn't allow. You'd hit the status easily anyway. SPG gives better rewards and with the Marriott merger, more options to redeem then
*them
Also worth noting that spg points can be used for flights: spgflights.com
Yes for a year, get the bonus points and then kill it
