I’m a mid-level agency producer and I’m worn out. I don’t know if it’s the agency I am at or the industry overall but I’m kind of done with it, especially now since the work is so dull. I don’t want to do project management since that’s the part about the job I like the least, but I don’t have the chops to flip to the creative side of things. What am I good for? What’s less pressure but still pays a decent salary and uses my skills but doesn’t require extra training? Open to wild ideas

Have you thought about UX Strategy ? I’ve known producers to transition over to it. Your skill set is very transferable because it’s all about process

Doesn’t even need to be in the current industry, open to anything, but not something that pays less bc I can barely survive on what I make now.

I’m pretty senior and done with this industry too. Have been trying to figure this out for years. Would love to hear what people think.

It might be easier to suggest something if you can list down your skillsets. Atleast I'm not aware of the skills that an agency producer would have.

Creative/marketing services in house? Procurement?

Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.

I’ve been with my current company for a little over 5 years now and since the start of the pandemic have been WFH. I absolutely love WFH and have always wanted a position in which I could WFH. There is talk of bringing everyone back to the office full time and that’s not what I would like to happen. I’ve been searching for a new position in which it would be a remote role. My current company also said I am maxed out in term of what they are willing to pay salary wise.

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!

I’ve been talking to people & networking trying to figure out next steps— could use some insight. The culture at my current agency isn’t the best & the pay is basically unlivable for NYC. Any thoughts?

Wondering what I should do.
