So I recently applied for a position as a training specialist, but I feel like I’m more than qualified to look for other roles. I have work in finance, but I do have my PMP, but I haven’t led any large projects, just assisted on them any advice to a young professional that just graduated with an MPA Fiserv, Inc
I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

I wouldn’t compare yourself to your peers in training.. 1. most probably don’t know as much as they are portraying 2. most won’t be able to apply it on their engagements and will need just as much coaching as you
It’s really hard to gauge yourself against your starting class even outside of training until you work on the same project with them. Just focus on yourself and you will be fine, definitely no need to get overwhelmed by A1 training.. my recommendation is to try to absorb what you can, make friends and have fun (if your in person grab drinks after, etc)
That’s definitely the cause, it’s way easier to pick it up again after working in it for 6+ weeks previously. You will pick it up quickly once you get used to it and the terminology, Id just ask your peers for help if you’re struggling to find something or don’t know what something is.. The more important stuff is the accounting/audit concepts which you are all relatively equal on (interns don’t really understand what they are doing most of the time).. I understand a ton gets thrown at you in training and it probably feels a bit overwhelming especially when you need to figure out just navigating things but it’s not something to start questioning your career on yet… you probably won’t feel fully comfortable until after your first busy season, that’s when i see it “click” for a lot of associates
I actually wouldn’t say to ‘relax’ but more so take a step back and a deep breath. Your panicking won’t help. Biggest thing we look for in an associate is someone who has a good attitude, follows instructions, and takes good notes. I don’t mind having you teach you more things compared to your peers as long as I don’t have to teach you the same thing more than once or twice.
You good homie! Don’t worry about those nerds!
I felt the same. give it a year, you’ll be vibing
A lot of people are just really confident and are just faking it

Behind how?
They know where to locate the materials fast, their searching is fast and they complete the assignments fast while Im still trying to figure out what i should do. The issue is english is my 2 nd language so I need more time than they do
Different people have different learning styles! Easier said than done, but try not to be deflated over being ‘behind’ and just keep chugging, you will catch up :)
Do you think one of the reasons im behind is I didnt do internship with my firm? I know most of the peers did, only me didnt
just relax
Remember that some people appear like they know more than they do! You’ll be fine.
