I’m an intern at an engineering consulting company, which I have enjoyed, but my supervisor never seems to have much work for me to do.

Most days when I ask him what I could help out with, he doesn’t have anything for me. So then I ask my fellow employees if I can help with anything and I’m met with the same response. Nobody seems to have any work for me, but I get paid regardless. I feel dishonest about it.

Any advice for how I could get more out of my internship when there is nothing to do?

Big law for 8 years (litigation/antitrust) and have never enjoyed the work. It’s too late to try a new practice area and am thinking about either leaving the law or going in house. Any non law ideas?

Is moving from Product management to management consulting a right move given the future growth and compensation ? At a M7 (or top 10), whatever floats your boat. Have successfully finished my qualifiers. I know my goal is industry and I’m starting dissertation proposal stuff now (will take around 1.5-2 years to complete), should I opt for a Master’s and start working now? Should I get the PhD? I recently visited for the first time the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, the stadium of the world-famous Real Madrid team, and despite being a physical engineer, I can not help but recognize that civil engineers are magicians, my congratulations to them.
