You need to be at an agency that’s doing great work. Sometimes you have to hustle to get on the right account or project. But you need to be at the right agency.
I worked at big name agencies and no name 5 person coworking space places and I’ve always followed the creative work. The portfolio matters much more than the name.
I’m at the small agency. I think it’s probably a grass is greener thing, however I’ve been able to lead and own more work than I would at my level in a big agency.
I am finding myself without proper mentorship and itching to work on big clients, so I’m going to a big agency.
