Yes, you can ask the recruiter to not contact your company until you have an offer. The recruiter will honor your request. They may say they cannot proceed unless they contact your employer (I don’t know), but then you just make a decision. The decision is yours either way.
So if they say they have to contact, then I’ll either stop the process or let them contact and inform my team?
I came from Ch 1 and this wasn’t an issue. When I was in the middle of interviewing I let the SM on the audit engagement know so he could inform the partner if needed and confirm there were no issues and he said it wasn’t a big deal.
When I got the offer and told my company they were mad and went back to the contract with EY to see if they had a provision about not taking our employees…. So perhaps this is related specifically to the relationship between EY and their client.
