I'm currently with a law firm that specialises in tax litigation and advisory. I'm looking to make a switch to a more transactional role of M&A, PE/VC, Gen Corp etc.

I have extensive theoretical knowledge in the above fields however I'm having a hard time convincing recruiters, can't even get hired for a job of 1 PQE.

Anybody out there that has made a career switch in a different practise area? How did you go about it? DM please

I have been offered from NTT data and a week ago they gave me a call to check if i can join early.. i said i am ok to join early if NTT is ready for buyout. They said they will come back on it and a day ago i can see that the recruiter has posted a job opening in naukri with the similer set of experience with what i have and i am little skeptical that will they revoke my offer. Hello accounting Manager here just getting started. What do you guys recommend in terms of studying resources to obtain more knowledge in GAAP rules and more complex accounting entries and adjusting entries

If you go for interview and you sort of know that the person interviewing you might be curious about something on your negative on your resume like why is there a gap or why were you in XX role for so long?

Do you address it pre-emptively? Or does that show insecurity and you leave the elephant in the room and wait till they ask you?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Why is it so hard to find a remote HR position? I have my SHRM-SCP, my MBA and over 10 years of experience being an HR Manager.
