I’m going to upgrade my freedom unlimited to the CSR but still within my first year with the freedom. Can I upgrade the day my account hits one year or do I have to wait a while after that?

Don’t upgrade. Get the CSR separately so you can get spend bonus. Your freedom unlimited card is free so don’t cancel it

A1 that’s not true. Maybe you got grandfathered into being allowed both. Anyways why have both? It seems redundant to pay both annual fees.

So I’ve gotten the AmEx Platinum offer for 150K bonus points (Gold for 75K). I have another corporate card so the annual fee is $550. Even without considering the statement credits, centurion lounge, etc… it’s worth it for the bonus alone right? Like 150K points > $550, and I get the perks as free benefit. I’d plan to downgrade in 1 year. Any thoughts?

I received a welcome offer for Amex platinum of 150K membership rewards points in the mail today, a week or two past signing up for the card for the card with a 100K welcome bonus. Is it possible to contact them and get the offer upgraded retroactively? Does anyone have experience with this?

Has anyone here accepted an offer while the H-1B extension petition is still processing? I have an exploding offer, but don't feel comfortable taking it without first discussing my situation with my current employer, and I don't feel 100% safe discussing the matter with them while my extension petition hasn't been approved yet... My visa expires in early September, so I believe the petition should be approved soon

Question about credit age and credit scores. If I call up Amex and tell them to open a new credit card and transfer the credit from another card to this new credit line (and cancel the old credit card but keep the old credit line on my new credit card). Would the average age of open credit decrease as a result of both opening a credit card AND losing the credit card I had opened? Or would the age if the second credit card be transferred over.

Anyone out there combining finances (at least for shared expenses like rent, groceries, vet bills, etc) after marriage? Trying to find the best way to do this when my credit card bill will contain both shared and individual expenses. Also please share if anyone knows what the best offers are at the moment for opening a checking account! I know some places have been offering $200 or $300 to open an account with them. Thanks all!

Any suggestions on which bank to get a credit card from? Currently bank with US bank and decided to put off getting a credit card til my full time job for whatever reason and I was rejected for their most simple option. Just looking to build credit, so I can apply for a card that has actual rewards. I have researched options a little but was curious to see if anyone has had any luck in a similar situation. Thanks!
