I personally plan to have a “job” or “career” for both the next 15 and possibly next 30 years, so should I just do 15 years to get a free and clear portfolio earlier? 25 year old and just getting started. Have a duplex in a major market (looking to refi out of FHA), and eyeing other opportunities now. I don’t “need” cash flow, so should I try to just build equity?

Seeing how 401k’s, ira’s etc..are mostly based in stocks. What happens if we have another Great Depression and the stock market crash’s. Even if you have Real estate investments, if ppl can’t pay rent like with Corona, that’s not really helpful. Currently 31 with 6.5 YOE and single . Should have NW of 250k by end of this year. (No significant assets in India). My fiancé and I (ages 30 and 31) are about to buy a house. We would put down 10% for a 835k purchase price. Our combined income is $265k. We both have around 7-10k left in emergency funds (each) and combined about 200k for retirement. Our mortgage is $4,500 a month and we split a car payment for $800. Is this an okay financial decision or should we have bought a cheaper house/saved more?

However, their version of refinancing student loans has changed in the last couple years so now they offer you a personal line of credit. Is it a bad idea to refinance with a line of credit vs a regular student loan refinancing?

My husbands company does not offer after tax contributions. Since pwc does, is there a mechanism where I am be able to increase mine to roll over to his?
