Stop with whole pay check. Kroger or heb
Yes
Aldi
You mean shop Kroger or HEB?
Rising Star
Whole Foods aka “whole paycheck”
Gotcha. Yeah. I know better. I don’t shop there.
Sprouts I feel like has the balance of healthy options and not pricey
Since you already have a particular diet plan in mind, check out some of the subscription meal delivery kits offered online.
They can be a little pricy if you’re buying them on top of your normal groceries, but if plan out your week using just the meal delivery kits, skip the grocery store entirely, then the price isn’t terrible. (Pick one, not both).
Also, stay away from HelloFresh as that tends to be (although not always) for people who don’t really know how to cook and need some guidance.
Other kits specialize in particular types of meals that fit your needs. Purple Carrot, Green Chef, Sakara, Fresh N’ Lean, and HungryRoot are a few.
There are also companies like Misfits Market and Imperfect Foods that deliver fantastic groceries/produce at a discount simply because they aren’t “pretty”. Example: a cucumber in the shape of a “u” or a two-legged carrot. 🤪
Costco has excellent prices on organics, nuts etc.
Pro
Check out ethnic stores. They have specific healthy items for amazing prices if you’re willing to do some legwork.
Check out the weekly sales paper with HEB, Kroger (use digital coupons!), Randall’s, etc and plan your meals around it.
Sprouts has a good meal kit section for cooked and non cooked foods
Also Trader Joe’s is good for cheaper options
