I’m interviewing a senior tax associate position at BDO, 2 years prior big 4 experience. What salary should I be expecting? LCOL like 80~85 index.

I just got a job offer for an Entry Level Software Engineer at Boeing in Saint Louis. The salary is $82,000 with an $8,000 sign on bonus. I was hoping for an offer closer to 90k base and I don’t care too much for a sign on bonus. However, this is a lot more than what I’m making now, and would be my first SWE job. Should I counter? If so, how would I go about doing that? Thanks!

Even without LinkedIn, I see a lot of people younger than me in much better roles. They started off with relevant jobs right out of college. I graduated in 2009 when the economy tanked and worked in retail for years before I was finally able to land in corporate. Does anybody else struggle with this as well? Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
