You will probably not be able to trade insurance benefits for more pay. Why? Because companies who offer these benefits may be legally required to offer them, or you might change your mind later - if your partner looses their insurance.
Companies like their employees to be compensated as similarly as possible. This make everything easier for them.
I recommend that you do NOT propose that trade. You don’t want to be “that person” who always asks for special or individualized exceptions. they may view this as a red flag.
Better option: Ask for more money. If you are on the bottom of the band but can clearly articulate to them that you bring more value than the average new hire, you are likely to get more.
