I'm looking to move up in my company, but it seems impossible. How do you make yourself stand out?

I read that most companies have larger budgets for new hires then they do for internal promotion, just keep that in mind. That said, why don't you talk to your boss about it? Let it be known that you want to step up and ask to be put on a career path. Ask what you need to improve on to move up and actively work towards it. Then continue to show initiative and a willingness to improve. Best of luck OP.

Thanks for sharing!

In general it's less profitable to climb the ladder from within and is best to go "ONWARDS AND UPWARDS" instead making an upward move to another company every 24-48 months.

Knowing how to communicate key points quickly and learning how to boil up detailed information into actionable takeaways.

By doing something either better than someone else, doing something that someone else hadn't thought of, or simply making your boss like you more.

I would have a conversation with your manager and ask them what you need to do in order to move up. That is honestly the best way to get feedback on what you need to change or do from the person who would be recommending you for a promotion.

Looking to get into SaaS sales but my experience is in construction and fine furniture (I was a sales manager and was able to lead my team of 4 people to consistently hit 450k monthly targets). I did that for almost 2 years before making the switch. I miss sales, though. Does anyone have any connections to companies looking? I have also considered a sales analyst role considering that I am moderately versed in Salesforce and have worked both the customer facing and sales generating side. TIA!

AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

AWS has prestige but is it worth it?
