I’m so over the job hunt. Last Monday, a recruiter reached out, and we had an amazing conversation. They literally used the phrase "you're a great fit" and talked about the next rounds of interviews like they were a done deal. I sent a quick thank-you note last Tuesday morning, and since then, nothing. Not even a rejection email. Why do they do this, and how long do you wait before assuming you've been ghosted?

Do any of you have experience with structuring a technical challenge to where it's the same for each candidate? I've had it happen where our devs asked questions to each candidate based on their lived experience vs. a standard set of questions that revolve around what needs to be performed in a dev role.

I am still on the process of getting my work permit and I am very clear about this during the interviews, but I suspect that this is the reason why I am not getting any call back. I’ve noticed on Glassdoor, salaries for my level (Director) are higher than my base but have similar bonus opportunity. At what level of pay gap would you push or make a stink? In hindsight I should have pushed more during the hiring process. At 160k base now, seeing ranges in the 170s to low 180s. These are specific to my current company.
