I'm trying to pivot out of Audit. I want to get experience on the technical side. I spoke with a recruiter who indicated that I should try Commercial audit to learn more about ASC 606, 842 etc. I'm also thinking about going for Accounting Manager, if possible. Is there a better way to pivot out? I've had enough of busy seasons. 😪

I came to US on an L1b in 2018 and switched to H1b in 2021 Oct. Current 797/visa expiry is stated as July 2023, by which I would have spent 1.5 years on H1b visa (and 3.5 years on L1b before that). During h1b extension , will I get another 4.5 years of extension? How does extension work when u switch visas?

What should I do in a scenario where I was hired (12+ years) with far less salary than(~20% less) than other members (4+ experience) in team and asked to take 80% of team's responsibilities. The hiring manager low balled me sensing that I am in dire need of that job and now I am stuck for 2 years now. The company is a big shot but I am literally getting paid less than what I used to make 10 years ago. Should I try to move within or look outside?
