Can’t advise on your decision but congrats!! 2 of the most highly sought after jobs on this app and you got both!
I’d say go for the big name - I always regretted not going that way
How many yoe do you have? If you are not far removed from undergrad and you can handle the work, I’d suggest MBB.
I highly doubt hours will be broadly similar. I work with a huge portco that’s had many acquisitions and their internal M&A team rarely works past 5. Sure there are fire drills, but standard 50-60 hours/week in industry really just isn’t a thing across most industries.
Salary and title profession at MBB will quickly allow you to overtake the portco opp, and exit opp afterwards will most likely be better.
Worth noting I am at a top boutique strategy atm with <4 YOE. idea is that PE portco will bring me in MIP in a few years - on a comp side it is unlikely MBB will pay more

MBB
What are the offers? 35% above entry level isn’t a massive amount, 35% above PL/EM level is. But a great position to be in regardless, so congrats!
So it’s roughly $135k vs $185k? You’d be at $185K in a year at Bain, right? So it seems like money shouldn’t be the main consideration here. Do you want to do corp dev or consulting?
If your long term goal is corp dev in this industry I would skip the middleman and go for it. If you don’t know what you want to do / think you might want to be a consultant - MBB
You can always go to MBB in a couple years after the PortCo if that’s what you want to do.
You don’t close any doors by going to the PortCo now.
If you go to MBB now you can probably exit to a PE PortCo in a few years. But it’s a lot more random and might not be better than the offer you have now. So if that’s the long term plan skip the middleman.
Play the long game, MBB

Corp Dev. If you for whatever reason desire to go into consulting (which most people go into consulting with the hopes of getting into corporate dev) then you can get an MBA and hop.
Do what you like. You know what you’re getting from MBB. If the port co is an industry you enjoy and a job you like, then you will go farther and the hours will not seem so bad.
