“Tone policing is defined as "a conversational tactic that dismisses the ideas being communicated when they are perceived to be delivered in an angry, frustrated, sad, fearful, or otherwise emotionally charged manner." Managers striving to create a workplace based on equity and inclusion must understand how tone policing silences members of marginalized groups and allows discrimination to persist.” https://www-businessinsider-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.businessinsider.com/how-to-identify-and-help-stop-tone-policing-in-workplace-2020-8?amp

R) at several large organizations. Many HR departments will hide behind the “token PR show” mentality where they hire a sprinkle of non-white employees and plaster them all over the website to appear as if they’re “diverse” and I use that term lightly for any office based in U.S. Those token race models get fancy titles and cannot affect change. From a growth perspective any non-white person will need to relocate abroad to be appreciated and compensated for their for their worth. The private sector in this country is an extension of Jim Crow with a fancy font.

If I submit one more "equal opportunities employer form" only to hear back I cant move forward because im on a visa, ill lose it.
That sucks. Are you clear about not needing sponsorship? Not gonna lie, a lot of recruiters know almost nothing about visa laws. If the agency says they aren’t sponsoring visas, they might just think that means no one who has it needs a visa.
Call it discrimination by stupidity. Just tell them you don’t need a visa and are eligible to work in America (I’m assuming you’re in America, just realized that). It’s like when they asked what you made at your last job and you just answer with what you want to make. It’s not a lie, you’re just answering the question they should be asking (but might not be competent enough to ask.)
