So I have an offer from both EY for Tech Consulting - Cybersecurity and Booz Allen Hamilton for Commercial Cyber Consultant.
While EY pays about 12k more, I’m concerned about my WLB. Booz Allen Hamilton seems great, but the slightly lower pay and smaller commercial practice makes me slightly concerned for my future career opportunities if I decide to leave.
Not sure what to pick and I’d love to hear how your experience has been in the cyber practice at Booz Allen Hamilton & EY
Honestly, it depends on your field. Some fields yield high earnings with just a bachelor’s degree, while others require a masters or MBA. If you are in a business field, you might need a higher degree if you are wanting to climb to a leadership role.
What's your degree/career field. I've seen MBA work out for people in tech and business or finance. It honestly just depends on your goals.
Your own personal goals are important here. Do research on the job/position role you want and see if ideal candidates usually have MBAs
What goals are you trying to achieve? Some industries have pretty high wages for bachelors degrees already so you wouldn't technically need to further your education. If it's in a high-stakes industry like business and finance, an MBA certainly helps you go far.
I'd say it really depends on your career goals. But personally, I don't consider it that worth it. You can use it to be promoted only if your company prefers employees with MBA.
