Is anyone else rethinking this career after becoming a parent? Trying to reconcile the travel, late nights, and constant pressure with, well... wanting to see my kid. I know people say “it gets easier,” but does it really? Has anyone successfully shifted into a more sustainable role while staying in the consulting world?

I had the exact same crisis after my second child. What helped was having an honest convo with my firm about what I actually needed. I moved into more operational/project management work that still supports delivery teams, but without the constant travel. It’s a slower track career-wise, but I’m finally sleeping again.

I have the same crisis daily. My kids will only be little for so long, I don’t want to miss it waiting for it to “get easier.” I am thinking about going to product/industry. The mixed experience of industry and consulting is strong to go back to consulting with.

Work from home helped me a ton with this

If the choice comes down to consulting career vs. the kids, it's definitely the latter

I have an offer with PWC and have a family. I would prefer to be with my family.
