Folks who were weak in GMAT quant but strong in verbal: did you find that taking the GRE was a lot better for you and worth it?

Yes quant was a lot easier on GRE and quant percentile went up significantly on first try without studying for specific GRE format.

Curious what your quant score was? Most native English speakers are stronger in verbal compared to Quant. But paradoxically, it’s generally easier to improve your verbal than it is to improve your quant.

I’m assuming you’ve taken the gmat once and didn’t like your score, but I think at this point your better option is to identify which areas you struggle with and nail them down as best you can. Trying to learn an entirely different test at this point would likely be counterproductive.

Yes, despite working in a job that was quantitative oriented...but had excel

Scored 95th percentile on verbal with no prep first time. I am bragging to offset my math performance lol.

For quant I did magoosh, a Manhattan class, private tutor and still couldn’t improve. I’m a horrible test taker for math and slow— a death knell for the gmat. I actually did better on harder questions in practice. I’m weird.

My takeaway was... I wish I studied more casually for the quant over 2-3 years rather then get desperate and stressed on a shorter timeframe (~8 months). I ended up taking the GRE and it was fine in the end. I didn’t get into T7 but did fine.

Honestly, I’m going to encourage my kids to start studying as soon as they finish the SAT if they’re considering bschool or LSAT. My parents are well educated. My dad was a civil engineer from a top school and even has his mba and other masters in tax. They were just too laissez faire and skating through caught up with me and I wasn’t even thinking about post-grad. Not blaming them but it definitely put me behind the 8 ball.

Can we stop using Deloitte as an insult please. I’m tired of it. I’m gonna delete this app

Also, anything using my MBA would be favored as well, this degree is not healthcare specific. Thank you!

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
