I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

There’s no answer that’s worth asking that question
What peer agencies do you most admire? Which ones inspire you and how does the greater industry inform what your most proud of what you’re building at this agency? What do you think makes this agency distinctive from others?

It’s odd asking this question tbh. I feel like there are different ways to interpret your question and I’m not sure if you are asking is it bad for you to say your work is perfect for some other agency.
If your intention is to say your work is of the style or quality level of agency’s you admire, and the agency you are interviewing for a job isn’t one of them then it might say two bad things about you:
1) You are only here because you couldn’t get hired there
2) you don’t think much of the enough of the agency you’re trying to get a job from
A better way to get there is to ask them how they see the agency growing. What type of work do they want to do more of? What types of clients do they see themselves going after?
Would you ask a first date what man/woman would they compare themselves to?
You should be able to figure that out yourself.
What specifically are you trying to find out? You can ask who they consider as their competition. You can ask about the business model. If it’s about the work or creative, maybe ask what campaigns they admire/reference from other agencies.
Since you’re a junior copywriter and I’m a CD, I’m going to give you some unsolicited feedback. Please take a look at the way you wrote this question. Do you see opportunities for improvement? For clarity? I do.
