Is it common for big 4 projects consulting projects to only be risk/compliance focused? That’s what mine have been so far (2 yoe) and want to try something else

Are all Big 4 firms equally tone deaf, or is it just EY? I feel like they don’t address the fact that people are leaving in droves and the ones left behind are burnt out - we continue to have these big growth targets, but fewer and fewer people to actually do the work.

Currently an assurance senior 3 at EY (promoting to manager in Oct). Want to get insight or anyone who made transfer from one big 4 to another. Was it worth it? What’s the bump in salary? How hard was the transition for you (new terminology, tech, firm culture, etc)? Don’t want to think the grass is always greener on the other side, but I’ve seen so many people made the move to EY from other big 4 and they make much more than I do because of the switch (same city same service line same level).

Need serious advice. Been a Digital Strategy consultant for three years, heavy focus on product strategy, research, development. It’s a small but global consultancy (offices in nyc, brasil, colombia). Last whole year been acting as a technical lead on strategy for a team of 40+ consultants across different industries and even sold new projects including new clients considered unicorns. Can I go to MBB as a consultant and/or project lead? My salary is way below average big 4/MBB… don’t have MBA.

The role is definitely a step up in terms of responsibilities from my current role as a senior consultant. Is it common at McKinsey for partners to be heavily involved in projects? I work in industry and I’m on a project now where a Senior Partner and Partner are on most our calls and seem very involved in delivery. The EM takes point on the deck but less on client relationships. I used to work at Big 4 and honestly our partners were rarely involved.
