Is it me or is Bain the most secretive consulting company out there. My friends from B school who went to Bain are rather mysterious about everything Bain while the rest of us (Big 4, McK, BCG, and etc.) lay down consulting jokes and banter.

The Bainies talk about their values and culture vaguely as highly dignified and leave it that. It is almost cult like actually from the outside looking in.

I want to get to know the local private companies. I worked at a private company with 2-3k employees before my MBA. They had an amazing culture, but limited progression opportunities. I'm thinking about looking for a smaller company (couple hundred to couple thousand employees) in the Dallas area and looking to find an amazing culture.
