Is it possible to love you job while hating your boss? I genuinely love the company I'm at, but it's becoming more and more difficult to look past the dislike I have for my manager. I don't want to leave the company because of this, but I'm running out of options (I already tried to move teams to no avail)

In a similar situation! Have been here 5 years, but got a new boss (cfo) last year. Her and I are not working, which is such a pity because I love everything else about my job. Out there looking for a new job !

My job was interesting, exciting and paid very well. But a toxic boss was all jt took for me to quit. I tried finding roles internally and externally. Complained to HR to no avail. Finally quit and now on the market for a new role

I am in the same situation. I love my job, like the people I work with and the company but my manager is insufferable. He constantly takes credit for my work and backstabs people, and when the company got picked as being one of the most secure institutes, he took 100% credit for my teamwork. At this point, I have no choice but to look for other work.

like

Yes you are not alone. There are lots of people that feel the way you do. Also not sure if you're heard or seen this before 'employees leave bosses not companies'. Start looking, its a shitty market but the best time to look is when you have a job.

like

You know what they say - people do not leave jobs, they leave bad bosses, bad leadership, toxic environments, etc.

like

You shouldn't have to leave your job because of a conflict with a boss. Have you looked at support via HR? Conflict resolution options?

HR works for the company not you. That's how i feel anyway. I would defo start looking..

If you already tried new teams, then you have no other option but to get a new job. Hopefully after you start the new one, you will love it, and your new boss is more what you had hoped the last one was.

A director in another unit wants to meet me to “continue a conversation we started last year”. He is referring to the time I had asked him if there were openings on his team. That was over a year ago. I am not too happy where I am right now ( I stayed where I was). I also don’t know if he really has an opportunity or if this is just some corporate circle jerk where my current director is trying to “smoke me out”. I don’t speak poorly of my team/work. How would you approach this conversation?
