Advice on working hybrid with team members completely virtual with some team members in the office? Struggling to maintain a positive attitude when it feels like managers rely on those who show up disproportionately to those who are fully virtual.

What’s the problem exactly? You feel you’re doing too much work, or judged more harshly by managers because you’re virtual?

Selfish perspective, but I do rely on those who show up versus those fully remote. When fully remote, most staff think they are having super productive days, but don’t get the informal instant feedback when doing tasks, so the output is subpar and leads to a high level of rework. The output and efficiency of in person is higher than remote (even though it’s close), but when it’s crunch time, I’m rolling with the in mostly in person team. If you’re hybrid (in office 2 or 3 times per week) and still spending time in person, you may just have a shitty manager.

If you opt to share the feedback with the manager, would the manager have a legal case against the company or former employee?

Everyone on my team is leaving the firm. The PPMD who hired me left the firm before my start date, now two seniors have left in the last 2 months. My team will be down to <3 with no manager/SM/PPMD. A Manager/PPMD from a diff. City is going taking our “office” over, so I’ll be the random staff that lives out of state but reports to them. What would you do?

I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense. I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. Is this just because I never get to work with other juniors and don’t see the mistakes they make, and that it’s relatively normal? And FWIW I went to HYS and I’ve had a clerkship so it’s not like I’m not smart

Over the past year, my counsel is constantly judged by a select few senior business folks (eg arguing over FTC compliance, IP risk counsel, and even simple things regarding NDAs that any attorney wouldn’t question. It’s very frustrating that my own team is the one I have to defend my logic to (and not opposing counsel). It feels like they want a rubber stamper, which is not me.I never faced this at my prior in-house roles (probably because they were much a larger). Any advice on how to handle?
