Bain & Company I’m a PhD student looking to start in consulting and am looking to connect with other PhD/ADP consultants that went into consulting to learn more about the experience and how to prep for case interviews coming from a non-business background. Especially looking for advice on McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company
I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?
I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? No. They're pretty much the same for the most part. There might be some slight differences between group but as a whole aren't too different.
Your experience will also greatly vary within any of the four firms depending on the projects you end up working on.
Anything you hear about major differences likely apply to a comparison between specific groups within the firms or are purely anecdotal depending on the person's experience.

EY was really chill… a little too chill
Where did you hear this? I mean, each firm has its own perks that make it great, but I wouldn't necessarily say one is better than the other. It really just depends on what your personal needs/goals/preferences are and what you value the most in an employer. I haven't worked at KPMG (yet), but I have worked at PwC, EY and now Deloitte. I'm happy where I am at the moment and I'd definitely encourage anyone interested in a job at Deloitte to pursue it - they're a great company to work for. But I wouldn't say they're the absolute best.

I’d expect the differences between firms is less than the differences in practices within a firm e.g. Deloitte A&C, EY-P, Strategy&
There all the same, ran the same. Depends on projects, teams, service line etc.
👍
Dislike how Deloitte doesn’t have sick days and you have to use pto. As a huge global company this is wild to me
Even with that, a good amount of folks still don’t use all their PTO each year. Conversely I previously worked at a firm that had separate PTO and sick leave and I never used any of the sick leave 🤷🏾♀️
Yes. DM me for a referral in case you are looking for an opportunity.
Yes Deloitte is probably the best
PwC is the best
D has the best reputation out of thr big 4 period. That being said people have different exp in pay, culuture, and over group dynamics. Just depends.
PwC is the best babe
