The company I work for (a data analytics consulting firm) was recently acquired by a larger firm. Based on sites like Glassdoor, their SWE are making almost double what I make. There is a lot of discussion about retention of employees, so should I expect my compensation to be adjusted? Should I mention this in my upcoming performance review if feedback is positive?

I’m an SE who works 2 AE’s, and from looking at the market am on the bottom end of the pay scale. The company I work for has many different products/services (80+), so they wanted SEs to take on a local “SME” role in a specific area, to support other members of the team.

This role has ramped up quite a bit recently, and people have been coming to me for help with their deals (overviews, demos, POCs) which is increasing my workload.

I don’t think the juniors are entitled, they just want to share in their firms’ wealth. Surely any salary increases for the Classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021 would easily pay for themselves through billable hours.

I am considering switching to tech sales. Currently I am in an Account Executive type role for a Recruiting company. Was curious to know more about BDR/SDR KPI expectations and if it would be better to start a career with a large company or mid sized company within the space.

I was thinking HR software would be the logical transition for me but I would also be interested in selling Sales Intelligence software.
