Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

I have not been much of a hopper and I am reasonably certain if I had been, I would make a lot more than I do now.
I was just told I have until 4/1 to find a new position or they will sever me. I’m trying hoping now. Also looking internally. Wish me luck!
The grim reality is that the only way you can really get a substantial raise is to jump organizations. New arrivals tend to be paid better than those who have been loyally plugging away. It's a common economic phenomenon that even has a name, wage inversion.

This is a reasonable approach when you are young. Keep going until you find a fit that is very rewarding and comfortable. By then you will have pushed your salary up.
It depends on where, why and how often you are hopping.
I have a bit of a reputation as a job hopper. At Thanksgiving family would ask "So where are you working now?" I am also pretty successful. I have never been out of work for more than a couple of weeks, even accounting for sudden layoffs. I have worked for two companies twice, another five times. I get emails from them of the nature of "why not make it six?" Weirdly companies like rehiring me. It's like I'm a known quantity coming in with a fresh mindset.
Here is the thing. I have never left a job except on the best of terms. The longest I have worked at a job is twelve years, the shortest six weeks. In all cases I completed the job they hired me to do and decided to move on.
Ideally, you do not want nothing but short hops on the resume. You want at least one job that lasted three years to prove you have some sort of staying power.
Beyond that, hiring managers know we work in a shifting landscape and won't judge you if you have a lot of one or two year stints surrounding it.
Job hop in your 20s and early 30s, then decide where you want to end up and settle there, because your age and income will both start to be a deterrent to your new employer and you will start hearing “you are over-qualified” - a euphemism for, “we can’t afford you” or “we don’t hire people over 33, but we can’t say that”
Depends if you're hopping only for $$$ or gaining new skills. But based on what I've seen, be happy you still have a job 😄
I have been hopping multiple companies over the past few years. I have noticed that you are being challenged to learn new technology (keeping your skills relevant to the market ) as well and increase in salary raise.
When I was out of work, I took on short term contracts freelance technical. 1 to 7 days such as upgrade financial district's, installs of network printers, troubleshooting medical devices, work station setups etc..
This built up my experience and built up resume real fast. It open doors for me to land several technical jobs until ageism sent me packing. I am currently working with AI and Smart technologies independently in my retirement in my 70s
define "job hopping"
It depends on the industry you are in. For example, it is difficult to rise in the corporate ladder in banking and in healthcare. Insurance is a mixed bag. Construction is a good one to stay in. I an not sure how other industries fare.
When I stayed with one company, my pay increased 4x's in the course of 15 years. When I job hopped, my pay increased 4x's in 12 years.
Your results may be different.
