Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

I had an interview at EY recently and that was one of the things I asked the Partner about. They said that because of EY split, they’ll have to hire even more people. Take that with a grain of salt, but the consensus is that Big 4 won’t be affected.

Never a mistake to jump from mid tier to big leagues. You will learn so much more. Just make sure you get the right comp package for your level ✌🏼
What about the opposite? Currently I’m at a big4 and debating a move to a smaller firm. Sick of some the cutthroat “colleagues” I have to deal with.
Biggest thing preventing me is just the fact of the reputation that I have already built at my firm and in my market.
As a tax people, I am sure there is no layoff at PA, they are always looking for people.

If they did layoffs, they should expect a domino effect of people leaving for other firms just because.
PwC never did layoffs.
How about in Covid?
You have a good point. Not now but right after your next Fed busy season around 4/15 you should start to look out. Economy is slowly going towards that and the effects can come anytime next year.

I’m sure another firm will hire them.
Never a bad time to shake things up
Where are you seeing layoffs
I’m in process of jumping to another big 4. Best way to think about it is that if there’s layoffs at big 4s then there will be layoffs where you’re at as well. Can’t stay if that’s your only fear.
