Employers will only check whether you know what they are looking for during the interviews. Which means, the knowledge and experience matters.
For example, certifications like CCNA/NP will be asked by some service based companies to meet their requirements with clients. However, if you have the CCNA/NP knowledge then they will hire you and ask you to take the certification at their expense.
Summary, do not invest time to build useless certifications, invest time to build your knowledge.
