Couldn’t pay me enough to go back to public sector consulting.

Do what makes you happy OP.
Thank you, D1. Most heartwarming post yet!
I moved from the public sector to the private sector back in October of 2014. I really disliked some of the office politics and also the seniority portion as others would transfer in and I would have to train them on how to do the job however I was first to get cut. Anyway, right away I started at the salary in the private sector that I would’ve ended up at in the public sector. It’s really paid off for me and I have since doubled that salary. It hasn’t been all sunshine, but overall it was a good move.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I also dislike the seniority portion of things at my current location. It seems like I am training people for a minimum wage price.
I worked in the public sector for years and I even did some defense contracting and public sector big for consulting. I am much happier in private sector consulting …and I also had a private sector job. again much happier better pay. never looking back.
more creative license and more profit margin and more interesting people
I'm in the public sector right now as a consultant. It's very challenging. For my exp level though I am above average in salary. I would move in the next 3-5 years so that the next private sector company would respect me
